Accomplishments for 2000

The leadership of the Tu-Cubin-Noonie Lodge of the Order of the Arrow voted to accept responsibility for Leave No Trace implementation for the Utah National Parks Council and Don became the first Lodge Leave No Trace Advisor with Ray as his assistant.  The new Lodge committee sponsored a Leave No Trace display at the Lodge Te Pee wee.

Bill Wagner and the committee assisted in planning and implementing a Leave No Trace display at the Great Salt Lake Council Scout-O-Rama.

The committee sponsored a Leave No Trace activity at the Utah National Parks Council Jamboral with 45,000 participants.

Five volunteers attended a Leave No Trace Master Educator course.

Don designed and made 630 Leave No Trace posters for future training kits.

Committee conceptualized a new program which eventually became the LNT-BSA Guide program. 

Don and Bill attended the annual National Leave No Trace Coordinators meeting held in Escalante Utah.   Don became the first non-agency person to participate in the coordinators meeting which was developed for federal land managers.

Implemented nature awareness programs for Utah National Parks Council Wasatch Front Scout EXPO and Order of the Arrow Training Summit.

The nature awareness and conservation message reached 62,816 people during 2000.
