"Teaching Nature Awareness and Stewardship"

April 2001
Leave No Trace Trainer Course

This was the first Leave No Trace Trainer course held in the Utah National Parks Council.  There were 73 participants with at least one from each of the 32 districts in the council.  Each district received an LNT training kit with all props needed to teach nature awareness in their district to Boy Scouts, school groups and others interested in this important message.  The Subaru Traveling Trainers and Bureau of Land Management national Leave No Trace and Tread Lightly! coordinator were on staff.

Training session in Camp Maple Dell Lodge.  Breakout session.  Checking out training kits.
Federal and State Agency panel.  Learning styles display.  Lunch was great.
Minimize campfire impact session.  Retiring the colors.  Traveling Trainers.
