Nature Awareness Workshop
and Trainer Course

A nature awareness and stewardship workshop and Trainer course were provided at Philmont Scout Ranch near Cimarron New Mexico.  The workshop staff included volunteers and federal land mangers (including national Leave No Trace and Tread Lightly! coordinators for the Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management).  They taught approximately 400 Philmont youth staff members.  Following the workshop 12 participants completed a Leave No Trace Trainer course.  Philmont staff will teach nature awareness and stewardship to approximately 22,000 participants during the summer.
