"Teaching Nature Awareness and Stewardship"

"Teaching children about the natural world should be treated
as one of the most important events in their lives."

-- Thomas Berry

  Why ROAR?
  • ROAR will focus on young people ages six to twenty-five.
  • Participants will develop a sense of nature awareness and commitment to responsible outdoor stewardship.
  • ROAR is the only organization which provides a wide variety of nature awareness and wildlife education programs and venues under one umbrella.
  • ROAR is the only organization which brings together multiple programs with a narrow focus in a cohesive educational model with trained instructors who are prepared to provide the majority of programs available.
  • ROAR provides links to free resources to facilitate nature awareness and stewardship initiatives.
  • ROAR provides the most comprehensive and organized access to internet links for ALL the states and federal agencies related to nature awareness and responsible recreation.
  • ROAR maintains links to other sites related to nature awareness and wildlife.  Others will be added as they are identified.
Remember:
One poorly located campsite, campfire or other negative impact on the land may have little significance, but thousands of such instances seriously degrade the outdoor experience for all.  We should leave everything just as we found it.  Responsible recreation is everyone’s responsibility.
